A start-up competition aimed at awarding 3 aspiring start-ups with seed-funding and sponsorship for a fully-fledged professional start-up incubator programme.

On the day of the event start-ups will be invited to pitch their business concept to a panel of industry expert judges that have been carefully selected from various industry sectors. The judges will be tasked with questioning and challenging the applicant start-ups to ultimately award the 3-top performing start-ups with the start-up booster prize fund.

What does one win

The top 3 performing start-ups shall be awarded €10,000 each in seed money and a 6-month incubator professional service programme worth €40,000 each.

The basement to boardroom programme is based on the ethos of matching the right working environment using the right tools and support measures working alongside the most relevantly skilled professionals within the relevant business and industry.

As a programme participant the winning start-ups will gain access to:

  • Specifically, focused office facilities comprising mainly of office desk space, technical workspace, reception services, high speed internet and meeting room facilities, just to mention a few.
  • The programme’s Business Mentorship line-up, a star-studded list of C-Suite professionals with extensive experience within various business and industry sectors, ready to provide one-on-one attention time.
  • Education Programme, a well-defined broad business subject list of training seminars, information sessions and educational content specifically chosen to support start-ups in brushing up or developing their knowledge of salient business points revolving around Operations, Finance, IT, Marketing, Coaching, Time Management, Delegation, Presentation, Public Speaking and many more.

Timeline

Applications open on 3rd May 2021 and will close on 31st May 2021

Once all applications the applications have been closed, the committee shall vet the application and choose the 10 finalists that will make it to the Pitch-it event.

The finalists shall be granted a 2hr pitch training workshop in the weeks prior to the Pitch-it event.

Pitch-it is spread over 2 days between 5th & 6th July 2021 which will be held at the University of Malta, Valletta Campus.

The winners shall be announced on Social Media on Friday 30th July 2021.
